I am deeply humbled by the power of birth and so proud to center the teachings of my ancestors, reminding us all to have faith in our own divinity, intuition and magic in my offerings as a traditional birthworker, artist and teacher. Born and raised in Oakland, California, I came to this work organically and began teaching my birth work philosophy in 2004, after more than 5 years of practicing as a full spectrum doula. Since then, my initial, in person, weekend long POC only doula training has grown into an All Black Doula training and experienced much expansion in its transition to being completely virtual.
As a Sumi’s Touch Brand Affiliate, we ask that you lend your name, image and words to share our work and encourage folks in your audience to consider our training. At the heart of this campaign is this:

Affiliate Agreement
THIS BRAND AFFILIATE AGREEMENT (“Agreement”) is made and entered into as of the date submitted (the “Effective Date”), by and between Sumi’s Touch and the person submitted (“Affiliate”).
1. Services: The Affiliate will post on social media, email lists and one on one communications in connection with Sumi’s Touch and their 2021 online offerings with the goal of inviting your audience to engage with Sumi’s Touch social channels, including but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, TikTok, and/or SnapChat and ultimately, purchase one of the trainings offered this year. Sumi’s Touch hereby appoints the Affiliate as its representative on a non-exclusive, non-employee basis to endorse and promote its services to the target audience.
2. Ownership Rights: The Affiliate hereby assigns and transfers all right, title, ownership and interest therein, of any shared and branded copy and content, presently known or hereafter ascertained, including, but not limited to, all copyright rights therein, the right to secure the copyright (and all renewals, reissues and extensions thereof) throughout the world, without any restrictions as to use, to Sumi’s Touch. For the sake of clarity, and without in any way limiting the foregoing, none may reproduce, modify, adapt, create derivative works from, distribute, display, license, assign, transfer and/or otherwise use the work, and all elements and derivatives thereof, in whole or in part, in all media now known or hereafter developed (including without limitation in social media), worldwide, in perpetuity, royalty-free and without restriction of any kind. The Affiliate acknowledges the ownership and validity of Sumi’s Touch copyrights, brands, trademarks, trade dress and patent rights, whether or not created by or contributed to by the Affiliate.
3. Deliverables: The Affiliate will deliver the agreed number of posts on the agreed platforms on behalf of Sumi’s Touch according to the delivery schedule specified by Sumi’s Touch. The Services shall conform to the specifications and instructions of Sumi’s Touch as outlined in detail in the attached Schedule of Services, abide by the rules of the relevant social media platforms, and are subject to Sumi’s Touch acceptance and approval. Sumi’s Touch has a maximum of XX days to reject any deliverable in accordance with this Section and must notify the Ambassador within XX days of receipt of work that additional revisions and/or amendments will be requested.
4. Cancellation. Either party may terminate this agreement upon ten days prior written notice if the other party breaches this agreement and does not cure such breach within such time period. In addition to any right or remedy that may be available to Sumi’s Touch under this agreement or applicable law, In addition, in the event that the Affiliate has breached this agreement, Sumi’s Touch may (i) immediately suspend, limit or terminate the Affiliate’s access to any Sumi’s Touch account and/or (ii) instruct the Affiliate to cease all promotional activities or make clarifying statements, and the Affiliate shall immediately comply. Either party may terminate this agreement at any time without cause upon thirty days prior written notice to the other party.
5. Compensation: In full consideration of the Affiliate’s performance, his / her obligations and the rights granted herein, the Affiliate will otherwise perform the services at his/her own expense and use his/her own resources and equipment. The Affiliate acknowledges that the agreed upon compensation represents the Affiliate’s entire compensation with respect to this agreement and Sumi’s Touch shall have no other obligation for any other compensation to or expenses or costs incurred by the Affiliate in connection with the performance of its obligations under this agreement.
6. Confidentiality and Exclusivity: During the course of the Affiliate’s performance of services for Sumi’s Touch, the Ambassador will receive, have access to and create documents, records and information of a confidential and proprietary nature to Sumi’s Touch and customers of Sumi’s Touch. The Affiliate acknowledges and agrees that such information is an asset of Sumi’s Touch or its clients, is not generally known to the trade, is of a confidential nature and, to preserve the goodwill of Sumi’s Touch and its clients must be kept strictly confidential and used only in the performance of the Affiliate duties under this Agreement. The Affiliate agrees that he/she will not use, disclose, communicate, copy or permit the use or disclosure of any such information to any third party in any manner whatsoever except to the existing and non-existing followers of Sumi’s Touch or as otherwise directed by Sumi’s Touch in the course of the Affiliate’s performance of services under this Agreement, and thereafter only with the written permission of Sumi’s Touch.
7. Material disclosures and compliance with FTC Guidelines: When publishing posts/statuses about Sumi’s Touch products or services, the Affiliate must clearly disclose his/her “material connection” with Sumi’s Touch, including the fact that the Affiliate was given any consideration, was provided with certain experiences or is being paid for a particular service. The above disclosure should be clear and prominent and made in close proximity to any statements that the Affiliate makes about Sumi’s Touch or Sumi’s Touch products or services. Please note that this disclosure is required regardless of any space limitations of the medium (e.g. Instagram), where the disclosure can be made via Hashtags, e.g. #brandaffiliate #sponsored. The Affiliate’s statements should always reflect their own honest and truthful opinions and actual experiences. The Affiliate should only make factual statements about Sumi’s Touch or Sumi’s Touch products or services which the Affiliate knows for certain are true and can be verified.
Typing your name below serves as a digital signature agreeing for you to participate within the Affiliate Program at Sumi’s Touch, and that you are clear of the role, responsible and exchange of the program.
